Diane, an adoptee, was born and relinquished in Oakland, California. Adopted by a Navy officer and his wife, she was raised as a Navy brat living in Hawaii, Japan, Virginia, and California. Her parents eventually settled in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, where Diane calls home.
After being married a few years, and over 12 years as a legal secretary and executive administrative assistant in the corporate world, she became a full-time mother eventually raising two children, a daughter and son, respectively.
In her mid-forties, Diane decided to search for her first mother and biological family. Always wanting to write a novel, Diane decided to embark on her next journey; writing about her experience searching and reuniting with her first family. She is an advocate for open records and adoption reform.
Diane is a member of the National Association of Memoir Writers (NAMW), and She Writes, a global online community of women writers. Diane is also a member of the Santa Clarita Writers Mastermind Alliance.
Diane lives in southern California, with her husband Michael and their Alaskan Malamute, Cheyenne.
